Support Services

Birth Preparation

Being informed about and prepared for the physical and emotional aspects of childbirth will give you a sense of confidence to trust your body's ability to birth your baby. Birth preparation consists of a 2 hour prenatal visit at your home where we will discuss the 6 healthy birth practices and how to advocate for yourself, the stages of labor and what to expect, and comfort measures and relaxation techniques to help you cope with labor and birth. Included with this service is an additional 2 weeks of follow-on support by phone, if needed.

Prenatal Counseling

Addressing your concerns and questions, whether it's your first pregnancy or from previous birth experiences, you will feel supported and heard as you process and explore the "what if's" and options you have moving forward. Preparing and educating yourself prenatally will help create a birth preference guide specifically for you, your partner, and your baby. Empowered by the knowledge you gain when creating your birth preference guide you’ll learn to trust your intuition and stay focused with a sense of control when you enter into labor. This service includes 2 prenatal visits at your home or location of choice. During the first visit we will discuss your concerns, questions, and desires surrounding birth, and process any unsettled previous birth experiences, if needed. You will explore and learn about all your birthing options as I record your preferences. Between our two visits you are encouraged to contact me with any changes or questions regarding your birth options. At the second visit we finalize your preferences and discuss additional concerns you may have. Creating a birth preference guide has 3 significant benefits for improving your birth experience: #1 It ensures you and your partner are on the same page when it comes to how you'd like to experience birth. #2 It empowers you to make informed decisions that are best for you and your baby. #3 It opens lines of communication between you and your birthing team about your birth options.
